Young Alumni will have an opportunity to savor gourmet cooking and a taste of the good life at a hands-on chef's cooking class at the King Plow Arts Center on March 28.

Last year's "cooking demonstration maxed out at 40 people and was a great success. We had many requests for a more hands-on cooking class," said Heather Kyle, senior event coordinator for the Georgia Tech Alumni Association.

"In order to meet the requests of the young alumni, we have decided to have a hands-on cooking class in a great, young urban setting with a well-known Atlanta catering company," Kyle said.

Alumni who attend this year's class will not just witness a demonstration. They will be assigned to a workstation to prepare a variety of high-quality hors d'oeuvres with instruction from chefs of Bold American Catering.

Owned by Fifth Group Restaurants, the same people who brought the renowned restaurants South City Kitchen Midtown and Vinings, The Food Studio, La Tavola Trattoria and Sala to Atlanta, Bold American Catering is known for its unique food presentations and variety of flavors, Kyle said.
