Want to ride in the rumble seat of the Ramblin' Wreck? Would you like your own "T" designed after the one on the Tech Tower?
The Georgia Tech Alumni Association will auction off impossible dreams, made possible to the highest bidder not once but twice beginning June 2.
"We'll have two series of auctions, each lasting about a week," said Jim Shea, the Alumni Association's vice president for Fundraising and Business Development.
Neal McEwen, an Alumni Association trustee who is heading up the online auction, said, "We thought an online auction would be a great way to engage the Tech community."
Shea said the items up for auction primarily "will be centered around a 'Tech experience.' We'll have the occasional autographed item, but having a 'T' and a ride in the Wreck will appeal to the true Tech fan.
"The idea has received very positive reactions from the group of board members who came up with the plan to the staff who have been suggesting items for auction. Students have even played a role so it's an exciting program," Shea said.
Items alumni can bid on include a Tech "T," a ride onto the football field in the Wreck, four suite tickets to the Georgia Tech-Florida State football game, a drive in the Wreck to school and fly-fishing on a private river, Shea said.
