2024 Gold & White Honorees

The Georgia Tech Alumni Association has announced the recipients of its most prestigious recognition, the Gold & White Honors. Six individuals will be recognized at the Gold & White Honors Gala on February 15, 2024, at Flourish in Atlanta.

 

The Joseph Mayo Pettit Distinguished Service Award, the Alumni Association’s highest award, honors alumni who have provided outstanding support to the Georgia Tech community throughout their lives and who have served as leaders within their professions and local communities. The 2024 honoree is Walt Ehmer, IE 89. 

 

The John B. Carter, Jr. Spirit of Georgia Tech Award celebrates the dedicated alumni of Georgia Tech who demonstrate extraordinary passion and commitment to the Institute. These Jackets unapologetically live out Tech's values and embody the Georgia Tech spirit. The 2024 honorees are Tommy Klemis, Cls 71 and Cheryl Weldon, ChE 85. 

 

The Dean Griffin Community Service Award recognizes alumni who have performed exemplary community service in the following ways: service in a long-term volunteer capacity, impact on the quality of life of others, leadership and creativity in dealing with societal problems, and ability to serve as a source of inspiration for others. The 2024 honoree is Andre Dickens, ChE 98. 

 

The Outstanding Young Alumni recognition is for alumni under 40 who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and service to Georgia Tech, the Alumni Association, the general welfare of their communities, and their professions. The 2024 honoree is Chad Sims, BA 15. 

 

The Honorary Alumni designation honors non–alumni who have devoted themselves to the greater good of Georgia Tech. The 2024 honoree is Danny Hall, Georgia Tech Head Baseball Coach.
