Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering | North Carolina State University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Ashley C. Brown is an associate professor of Biomedical Engineering at North Carolina State University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received a bachelor’s from Clemson University in Biosystems Engineering and a PhD from Georgia Tech in Bioengineering. Her research focuses on developing novel materials for a variety of biomedical applications, including augmentation of hemostasis, enhanced wound healing, evaluation and modulation of cellular mechanotransduction, and development of biosynthetic constructs for regenerative medicine. Due to her interest in translating biomaterials into clinical use, Brown founded SelSym Biotech, Inc., a start-up focused on development of hemostatic and pro-healing therapeutics.
