The Georgia Tech Alumni Association, in keeping with our mission and values, is committed to creating inclusive activities for our community. One important way that the Association serves the broader Georgia Tech community is by providing impactful opportunities for alumni and students to connect and learn from each other. The Association leadership and staff worked in collaboration with student leaders and campus partners to develop the following Commitment to Inclusion statement to provide a welcoming atmosphere for all participants.
Commitment to Inclusion Statement
The Georgia Tech Alumni Association is committed to creating inclusive events for all constituents. To best serve our community, we maintain that each member agree to our Commitment to Inclusion Policy.
By participating in this program hosted by the Georgia Tech Alumni Association, I agree to uphold the mission of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association and the Institute and encourage the same in my alumni and community. As the face of Georgia Tech at this program, I will act responsibly and conduct myself in a way that upholds the mission and reputation of Georgia Tech Alumni Association and the Institute. I agree to:
- Abide by the highest standards when interfacing with fellow alumni, students, and staff members.
- Come to events with an open mind, willing to learn from differences in people, ideas, and opinions.
- Respect the dignity, rights, and property of other people.
- Not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, nationality, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status as outlined in Institute policies found here.
- Conduct myself professionally (actions and language) with students, staff, and fellow alumni in all Alumni Association programs.
I acknowledge that this list is not exhaustive to the points above. Failure to comply may result in further action by the Alumni Association staff.
Reporting
If you attend an Alumni Association event and feel that a member of our community (alumni, student, staff, volunteer) has violated this policy, please report it through the following steps.
Report the incident to Ethics Point or directly to one of the student organization advisors or staff members.
Within the incident report, indicate clearly the offender’s status (ex. Alumnus or alumna). By doing this, General Counsel will be able to act accordingly and make the Alumni Association aware of these incidents in order to take appropriate action.
