GOLD Advisory Council

The Georgia Tech Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) Advisory Council supports the Alumni Association, promotes the Institute, and serves Georgia Tech’s most recent graduates. As a volunteer leadership council, members offer guidance on strategic initiatives surrounding communication, volunteerism, events, and philanthropy to support the mission of the Alumni Association.

Why join the GOLD Advisory Council?

  • Shape the new alumni experience by offering strategic insight that informs Alumni Association programs and campus initiatives serving graduates from the past ten years.
  • Give back to Georgia Tech through a flexible, primarily virtual volunteer opportunity that fits a variety of schedules and locations.
  • Expand your network by connecting with fellow GOLD Council members, Alumni Association staff, Board of Trustees members, campus partners, and student leaders.

Membership and Expectations

GOLD Advisory Council members may serve up to 3 consecutive ​​​​one‑year term (July 1–June 30) terms, aligned with Georgia Tech’s fiscal year. Recruitment occurs each spring. General members may reapply if still within the “Graduate of the Last Decade” window.

Meeting Cadence 

The Council meets virtually monthly on the third Wednesday of the month from 6-7 pm EST. Members are expected to attend three annual GOLD Summits (typically July, October, and February).

Member Expectations

Attendance & Communication

  • Attend monthly Council meetings
  • Attend 3 GOLD Summits
  • Stay engaged via Slack, email, and other communication channels

Philanthropy & Ambassadorship

  • Make a meaningful annual gift to Roll Call
  • Serve as an ambassador for Giving Tuesday and Giving Day
  • Recruit peers, support alumni engagement efforts, and nominate 2+ candidates for the next GOLD cycle 

Thought Leadership & Engagement

  • Advise on young alumni needs and strategic initiatives
  • Participate in Mentor Jackets and/or Minute Mentor
  • Attend alumni and student engagement events (e.g., Social in the City, Ramblin’ On, Game Watching, Student Send‑Off)
  • Join committees or focus groups as needed 

Responsibility & Accountability

Executive Committee leadership will track engagement. Members not meeting expectations will meet with the GOLD advisor and President to discuss next steps.
